REGENERATIVE ORTHOPEDIC KNEE TREATMENTS

Use your own stem cells to accelerate the healing process.

Regenerative Medicine Injection-Based Procedures for Knee Osteoarthritis, Meniscus Tears, Tendon & Ligament Tears, Overuse Injuries and More.
Interventional Orthopedic Procedures are non-surgical injection-based treatment solutions for people suffering from knee pain due to common injuries to the knee Meniscus, ACL, MCL, and other structures, or who are experiencing degenerative conditions such as Osteoarthritis. These procedures utilize concentrated repair cells that are obtained from your own bone marrow or blood to promote your body’s own natural ability to heal.

Traditional options for patients suffering from these conditions include arthroscopic knee surgery to repair ligament tears, meniscus, or total knee replacement. With these types of surgeries, months of rehab are required, and the patient must be aware of and fully prepared to take on the risks. As an alternative, interventional orthopedic procedures are designed to help reduce knee pain and improve function with precise highly specific image-guided medical procedures.

Your Alternative to Knee Surgery Surgical options for those dealing with painful knee issues range from arthroscopic knee surgery to total knee joint replacement. Recent research has shown that some of the most popular arthroscopic surgeries, such as meniscectomy, provide little benefit to the patient. Knee replacement is extremely traumatic and carries risks of chronic pain and toxic wear particles entering the bloodstream. Surgical risks aside, all surgeries require months of painful rehab to regain strength and mobility. Most knee surgeries also accelerate the cascade of degeneration that leads to Osteoarthritis. We have seen exciting results on difficult cases, such as complete muscle and ligament tears, and have helped many patients with arthritis avoid knee replacement and continue to do the things they love with little or no pain. Most patients experience little downtime from their procedure and are encouraged to return to activity as they begin to feel better. Your physician will determine if you are, or are not, a candidate for these procedures and recommend surgery if that’s what’s needed

Common Knee Conditions

Osteoarthritis

Knee replacement surgery comes with many serious risks and complications, but is often considered to be a straightforward and accepted approach to treatment for those suffering from significant arthritis or injury in this joint. Before you consider knee replacement, learn how Regenerative Medicine can help you.

Meniscus Tears

Meniscus tears are one of the most common injuries we treat. The last option anyone should consider for treating a meniscus injury is the surgical removal of all or some of this important structure. Contact us today to learn how Regenerative Medicine treatment may be a great alternative over meniscus surgery.

ACL Tears

Knee ACL tears are a common injury. The rush to surgery has long been due to the traditional thinking that an ACL will not heal. Our experience treating ACL tears with our regenerative treatments has shown that it may be a better option for those who have experienced a partial or complete non-retracted ACL tear.

Stem Cell Therapy Process

Initial Consultation

Initial Consultation

Our expert physicians will meet with you by phone or in-person to review your medical history and will determine if you’re a good candidate for stem cell therapy. If we agree stem cell therapy can help, we’ll schedule your first appointment in our office.

Therapy Solutions

Treatment

In most cases our outpatient treatment takes 2-4 hours and is nearly pain free. You do not have to “go under.” On the day of your procedure, our physicians will collect your stem cells. Fat is obtained from the low back or abdomen, bone marrow is obtained from the back part of the hip. After stem cell collection, you will relax in a private room. Once processed, your stem cells will be injected into the area of need using a highly sophisticated ultrasound instrument with enhanced needle visualization for precise delivery of your stem cells. In some cases, we also administer an IV of your stem cells during treatment to further enhance your body’s natural healing process.

Follow-up Therapy

Follow-up Treatment

There is virtually no recovery time from your stem cell therapy procedure. Most people are back to work the following day.
Physical Therapy - NRO has partnered with several physical therapist providers specifically trained in therapy following regenerative treatments. The combination of regenerative medicine and physical therapy to correct biomechanical imbalances offers patients an empowering way to take control of their lives.
Our medical staff will remain in touch with you during your recovery process to answer questions.

Patients who are considered to be candidates will be invited for a consultation with one of our panel physicians. Treatment cost varies depending on the disease state being treated and which type of stem cell deployment is required.

HOW REGENERATIVE MEDICINE WORKS

Effective Bone Marrow Concentrate Treatment

THE POTENCY OF BONE MARROW

Diving deep into the realm of Regenerative Medicine, Bone Marrow Concentrate is laden with stem cells, the body's innate repair agents. While these cells are ever-ready to mend damages, aging or significant injuries might deplete their availability. That's where our treatments step in. We meticulously extract Bone Marrow from the hip's rich region, concentrate the cells, and with cutting-edge imaging guidance, reintroduce them to the injury site.

This not only amplifies the body's natural healing response but offers a broad-spectrum solution for diverse orthopedic challenges. After a thorough assessment of your condition and medical imagery, our physicians will recommend if a bone marrow concentrate or a platelet-based therapy suits your orthopedic needs best.

Effective PRP Procedures

FOCUS ON PLATELET RICH PLASMA & LYSATE

Harnessing the regenerative potential of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Platelet Lysate, we tap into your blood's intrinsic growth factors, boosting your body's repair mechanism. While PRP treatments are gaining recognition—courtesy of endorsements from pro athletes—it's their rejuvenating effect on repair cells that's groundbreaking. These platelet infusions supercharge the cells, accelerating the healing trajectory.

At Kellum Stem Cell Institute, our PRP procedures are executed with unparalleled precision using state-of-the-art imaging. Compared to standard PRP offerings, our Advanced Platelet Procedures stand out, delivering higher concentration and purity, maximizing the natural healing response. From mild arthritis, spinal ailments, soft tissue injuries to nerve surroundings, platelet procedures are versatile.
